Pull request review commenthome-assistant/core
Add kodi browse media for channels
def library_payload(media_library): "library_music": "Music", MEDIA_TYPE_MOVIE: "Movies", MEDIA_TYPE_TVSHOW: "TV shows",+ MEDIA_TYPE_CHANNEL: "Channels",
I don't believe it matters but will switch to title "Channels" just to be uniform.

Avoid failing when hub does not provide cover position information (#39826) The powerview hub, seemingly randomly, will occasionally not provide data for cover positions. Some requests will return the desired response, but minutes later the same request might not. It appears this issue is being experienced by a number of people: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/hunter-douglas-powerview-component-expanding-this-api/88635/48 While an unfortunate bug with the hub, crashing the integration as a result of this missing data appears somewhat excessive. This patch adds a simple check to ensure the 'position' key has been returned by the hub before attempting to access its data.

In particular, this module is now implemented in terms of the new <a href="https://pkg.go.dev/mod/google.golang.org/protobuf"><code>google.golang.org/protobuf</code></a> module, which is the next major revision of Go bindings for protocol buffers. From this point onwards, most of the development effort for Go protobufs will be dedicated to the new module, with minimal changes being made to this module.</p> <p>See the <a href="https://github.com/protocolbuffers/protobuf-go/releases/tag/v1.20.0">release notes for the new module</a> for specific implementation details that may affect this release.</p> <h2>Backwards compatibility <!-- raw HTML omitted --><!-- raw HTML omitted --></h2> <p>This release maintains backwards compatibility with previous releases of this module. Any observable changes in behavior are to fix bugs, change unspecified behavior, or to make behavior more compliant with the protobuf specification. The <a href="https://github.com/golang/protobuf#compatibility">compatibility document</a> provides us the freedom to make changes in these areas.</p> <h1>Notable changes <!-- raw HTML omitted --><!-- raw HTML omitted --></h1> <h2>Wire serialization <!-- raw HTML omitted --><!-- raw HTML omitted --></h2> <p>Wire serialization is now implemented in terms of the new <a href="https://pkg.go.dev/google.golang.org/protobuf/proto"><code>proto</code></a> package by calling out to the relevant functionality in that package (e.g., <a href="https://pkg.go.dev/google.golang.org/protobuf/proto?tab=doc#Marshal"><code>proto.Marshal</code></a> and <a href="https://pkg.go.dev/google.golang.org/protobuf/proto?tab=doc#Unmarshal"><code>proto.Unmarshal</code></a>). There should be no observable changes in behavior other what is mentioned elsewhere in the release notes (e.g., behavior around <a href="https://github.com/golang/protobuf/blob/HEAD/#v1.4-errors">errors</a> or <a href="https://github.com/golang/protobuf/blob/HEAD/#v1.4-nil-values">nil values</a>).</p> <h2>JSON and text serialization <!-- raw HTML omitted --><!-- raw HTML omitted --></h2> <p>The JSON and text format implementations have been ported to use <a href="https://github.com/protocolbuffers/protobuf-go/releases/tag/v1.20.0#v1.20-reflection">protobuf reflection</a> under the hood instead of relying on Go reflection. This provides flexibility as they can operate on any concrete message type that properly implements the new <a href="https://pkg.go.dev/google.golang.org/protobuf/proto?tab=doc#Message"><code>proto.Message</code></a> interface.</p> <p>The implementations do <em>not</em> use the new <a href="https://pkg.go.dev/google.golang.org/protobuf/encoding/protojson?tab=doc#Message"><code>protojson</code></a> or <a href="https://pkg.go.dev/google.golang.org/protobuf/encoding/prototext?tab=doc#Message"><code>prototext</code></a> packages in order to maintain a higher degree of backwards compatibility. Our analysis unfortunately showed us that too many tests rely on their output being stable by performing byte-for-byte comparisons. Even though the compatibility promise gives us the freedom to change the output, we have chosen not to do so for pragmatic reasons. The implementations are now functionally frozen (bugs and all) and will not receive future improvements. Users are encouraged to migrate to the <code>protojson</code> or <code>prototext</code> packages instead.</p> <!-- raw HTML omitted --> </blockquote> </details> <details> <summary>Commits</summary> <ul> <li><a href="https://github.com/golang/protobuf/commit/d04d7b157bb510b1e0c10132224b616ac0e26b17"><code>d04d7b1</code></a> all: upgrade to google.golang.org/[email protected] (<a href="https://github-redirect.dependabot.com/golang/protobuf/issues/1131">#1131</a>)</li> <li><a href="https://github.com/golang/protobuf/commit/07c14f10892137835ca0e5ab9f9048467ccc8356"><code>07c14f1</code></a> proto: make InternalMessageInfo functional (<a href="https://github-redirect.dependabot.com/golang/protobuf/issues/1129">#1129</a>)</li> <li><a href="https://github.com/golang/protobuf/commit/00998c7dd9d789e353c9518d13864b75cd23c55d"><code>00998c7</code></a> jsonpb: fix a confusing error message (<a href="https://github-redirect.dependabot.com/golang/protobuf/issues/1125">#1125</a>)</li> <li><a href="https://github.com/golang/protobuf/commit/6c66de79d66478d166c7ea05f5d2ccaf016fbd6b"><code>6c66de7</code></a> all: upgrade to google.golang.org/[email protected] (<a href="https://github-redirect.dependabot.com/golang/protobuf/issues/1114">#1114</a>)</li> <li><a href="https://github.com/golang/protobuf/commit/b5de78c91d0d09482d65f0a96927631cd343d7bb"><code>b5de78c</code></a> all: minor documentation adjustments (<a href="https://github-redirect.dependabot.com/golang/protobuf/issues/1112">#1112</a>)</li> <li><a href="https://github.com/golang/protobuf/commit/8d9af285403e1acdb3b235d3dcca77099325f417"><code>8d9af28</code></a> protoc-gen-go/grpc: make grpc identical to v1.3.5 (<a href="https://github-redirect.dependabot.com/golang/protobuf/issues/1113">#1113</a>)</li> <li><a href="https://github.com/golang/protobuf/commit/fa093f59480c0adaaabf88a72a0b0e48b95aec25"><code>fa093f5</code></a> proto: fix stale deprecation documentation on registry functions (<a href="https://github-redirect.dependabot.com/golang/protobuf/issues/1093">#1093</a>)</li> <li><a href="https://github.com/golang/protobuf/commit/1b794fe86dd6a0c7c52ae69b5c9cb0aeedc52afa"><code>1b794fe</code></a> all: upgrade to google.golang.org/[email protected] (<a href="https://github-redirect.dependabot.com/golang/protobuf/issues/1081">#1081</a>)</li> <li><a href="https://github.com/golang/protobuf/commit/e9dc0d72c1a35f349f6d6871842199ddaaaf9edc"><code>e9dc0d7</code></a> all: update to wrap google.golang.org/protobuf</li> <li><a href="https://github.com/golang/protobuf/commit/3a3cefd0f2bd86460816e3312135813db1ea21e1"><code>3a3cefd</code></a> all: use google.golang.org/protobuf/testing/protopack for tests (<a href="https://github-redirect.dependabot.com/golang/protobuf/issues/1063">#1063</a>)</li> <li>Additional commits viewable in <a href="https://github.com/golang/protobuf/compare/v1.2.0...v1.4.2">compare view</a></li> </ul> </details> <br />

asyncio client doesn't handle DNS changes
The issue here is that the client is holding onto the first resolved DNS result forever.
This might be re-creatable will the following flow.
Modify /etc/hosts to point a hostname somewhere In a loop, attempt to fetch that hostname Modify /etc/hosts to point the same hostname somewhere else See if the somewhere else starts receiving requests.

Universal media player claims to support "volume_set"
Working around this for now using a custom component, basically have a list of things I want to always override and if they exist the supported feature is reset.
https://github.com/imduffy15/home-assistant-config/blob/master/custom_components/universal/media_player.py#L385
happy to discuss further and open a PR if this is believed to be a sane approach

Universal media player claims to support "volume_set"
I think this occurs due to the initial state coming from the child media player. Maybe something like the following would be more suitable:
if any([cmd in self._cmds for cmd in [SERVICE_VOLUME_UP, SERVICE_VOLUME_DOWN]]):
flags |= SUPPORT_VOLUME_STEP
else:
flags |= ~SUPPORT_VOLUME_STEP
if SERVICE_VOLUME_SET in self._cmds:
flags |= SUPPORT_VOLUME_SET
else:
flags |= ~SUPPORT_VOLUME_SET
to override based on what is provided by commands

Universal media player claims to support "volume_set"
The problem
Using a universal media player with the following configuration:
