Add files from different directories
Good idea - this needs a bit of thought as currently it simply loops over each selected track one by one in a very predictable way. There is another request to support drag-and-drop which might also form part of this change.
I'd probably approach it by having the existing directly window as more of a 'Queue' panel and make a totally new interface to browse/select tracks and add them to the queue.

This is something I meant to do in the last release, will add it to the list as it's a pretty basic function.

Add files from different directories
Normally when writing, you would be adding a few files and then start transferring. If you have the files in different directories, it will need to transfer then per directory. It would be great if all the selection of files can be done first and then start the transfer.

It would be great if it would be possible to stop the transfer in some way (If you for example forgot to change the write format before pressing transfer). I sometimes press the stop button in the app and remember it will not stop the transfer.

Cool idea! I have thought before that it would be good to leave the MD player connected overnight, and automatically record any podcasts that come through, so it's ready to go in the morning.
This might be better as a 'companion app' - it also may be against the copyright terms of the Podcast providers (even though you can download the MP3s...).
Happy if you want to put in a PR request - I'll have to put this in as a nice to have somewhere in the future for now.

Would it be possible to add a podcasting client?
The user adds a list of podcast RSS feeds Every x minutes program checks the feeds and downloads the mp3 files to a folder on disk Keep track of downloads so don't download the same file twice When a button is clicked the program erases the inserted minidisc and fills minidisc with downloaded mp3s at chosen bitrate, default to lp4 Delete mp3 from the file system when they are uploaded to minidisc
Possible enhancements: Split podcasts over multiple disks if they won't fit Split an individual podcast if it won't fit on a single disk (looking at you Dan Carlin)
If this isn't something you are interested in doing, would you add it if I wrote the code? I haven't done electron before but keen to learn...

Hey there - this is a bit of a "known issue" with linux-minidisc. There does seem to be some slight padding added to each track.
Unfortunately I don't know enough about the maths behind it to be able to diagnose it.

Sony MZ-RH1 slow NetMD SP write speeds
This has been discussed a bit recently on other forums. From my testing I can confirm that Hi-MD players are slower in general at writing SP.
Seems the general consensus is that newer Hi-MD players are slower because the focus was on the Hi-MD capabilities. It's very hard to test as there's no easy comparison using Sonic Stage as it's not full quality SP.
Certainly for any of the 'data' formats including LP2, newer players are a lot faster.

For a classic netMD how does it works for purpose a true SP in platinum-MD ?
It's not possible to add the support of classic SP to platinum-MD for Hi-MD ?
As long as you set your Hi-MD device to "MD" mode (instructions in README) you can record in standard SP mode.
