Reset the cursor style when leaving the alt grid

As I understand @chrisduerr, this is incorrect because save/reset cursor (DECSC/DECRC) are referring only to the cursor position. This is in conflict with gnome's vte issue I linked above, but we follow xterm so it's possible not relevant.

Either way, there was discussion for a way neovim could send a reset style in this open issue neovim/neovim#4396. I'd be interested if there's something we can do to help resolve this issue for people?

@justinmk left the following comment:

Unless alacritty supports the feature described in this issue it's not possible to fix.

Reset the cursor style when leaving the alt grid

According to invisible-island's docs for CSI 1049 Pm l, we should be resetting the cursor style in addition to changing back to the normal buffer.

No it shouldn't. This works correctly.

Cursor shape returns to Block after exiting neovim

Neovim doesn't reset the cursor on exit. You have to do that yourself.

There's literally no difference between empty cells and whitespace in a terminal.

[macOS] alacritty window doesn't move once decorations:none is set

Same issue on Windows 10 (10.0.18363 Build 18363) with Alacritty 0.7.2:

Cannot change window with keybindings (WIN+up/down/left/right), cannot change window via the bottom bar (context menu has most options greyed out, "move" option is available but doesn't work), cannot click on the border to change size.

I don't know if this is possible to fix but it would be great if it is. Also let me know if I should post a new issue - I know window management is probably different on Windows/Mac but I didn't want to post a duplicate in case it's related.

Vim does exactly what Alacritty does if you fill the entire buffer with whitespace.

Yes, I'm aware of this fact. I'm saying that we should ideally not treat empty cells as if someone put whitespace in them.

Reset the cursor style when leaving the alt grid

Actually, this is incorrect. I need to do something like add a saved_cursor_style field to the Grid and modify the save_cursor_position and restore_cursor_position functions. This is according to the description of ESC 7 Save Cursor (DECSC) and ESC 8 (DECRC) from https://invisible-island.net/xterm/ctlseqs/ctlseqs.html. Here's some more evidence that it's more than just the position that needs to be saved: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=731205#c1

Cursor shape returns to Block after exiting neovim

I'm thinking about this more now and I feel like this could be our issue after all. Since neovim seems to be sending the reset \x1b[?1049l which should reset the cursor to it original configuration. Looking into it now.
