Discussed in #552. webrick is no longer bundled with Ruby as of v3.0.0 so this PR adds a check to determine which Ruby version is being used and install webrick if necessary.

Good catch @maxim-belkin! I'm happy to open a PR based on these comments.

This excludes scratch and travis but can be easily extended. It also allows for an easy extension to upload all images to github afterwards

Yes, I agree. I think there are a lot of people that use Ruby 3.0.0. How about

gem 'webrick', '~>1.6'

since 1.6 is the version bundled in Ruby 2.7.1 and it would also allow anything below 2.0?

Does GitHub Pages need to be turned on for repository https://github.com/carpentries-incubator/shell-programming-course ?

https://carpentries-incubator.github.io/shell-programming-course/ does not show up. I guess also list it on https://carpentries.org/community-lessons/

The Linux Setup instructions (in setup.md) miss several steps that are required (at least for me on Ubuntu 18.04) to get the Gems configured and installed.

After running gem install bundler --user-install I get the error:

Thank you for this lesson proposal @nikhil153! Based on the people involved, am I correct to assume that this is intended to form part of the growing neuroimaging curriculum (along with https://github.com/carpentries-incubator/SDC-BIDS-IntroMRI, https://github.com/carpentries-incubator/SDC-EEGLAB, etc)? If so, would you like to suggest a name for the repository to stay consistent with the repositories that already exist here?

The intention is for this lesson to follow on from the shell introduction course. It's focused on workflow management (with an eye on working on HPC systems). It has a lot of the information that I think needs covering in the lessons (though we are also considering adding a lesson on awk, extending it to be covered as a one day lesson), but could certainly do with a lot more interactive challenges for the students (and more descriptive text needs adding, so it is more suitable for self-guided learning).

I had an issue running make serve using ruby 3.0.0. I tracked down a solution on this GitHub issue: https://github.com/jekyll/jekyll/pull/8590.

The fix was to run bundle add webrick.

This command adds the following line to the Gemfile: gem "webrick", "~> 1.7"

Should the Carpentries lesson setup instructions be modified to explicitly install ruby 2.7.1 or would a change to the Gemfile be warranted to add the webrick dependency?
