issue commentmagit/magit
[...] bad performance currently is Magit's biggest problem.
+1 Every time I rename a directory, I use the standard command line Git to commit the change, as Magit would create a huge, 500MB or even 1GB, status buffer with diffs that nobody needs, blocking the entire Emacs environment. It would be amazingly helpful if we could hit C-g to stop Magit from diffing for the status buffer, like we can do when committing large changes.

Hello @ihhub,
Even if the growth of neutral creatures is not yet used in fheroes2, I think it would be nice to have a basis for the future. I think that the same growth as the Barbarian castle creatures (but with the well and horde building bonuses) should be adequate. I can open a discussion if necessary.

@oleg-derevenetz,
I found out what the problem is. If there is another ".cfg" file in the folder this causes a problem. I had renamed the old configuration file "old fheroes2.cfg". When I delete this file everything works fine. This should be taken into account.
Yes, if I copy existing config file as "old fheroes2.cfg" and set show game intro to on in it, then game intro is shown, so it seems that this file is read instead of fheroes2.cfg. However, if I rename it to xxx.cfg, then everything works fine. It seems that any file with name which ENDS with fheroes2.cfg is considered as a config file.

Hi @Branikolog could you please check if you can reproduce this issue?
comment created time in 6 hours
issue commentihhub/fheroes2
I can't reproduce this so far. This can only be the case if fheroes2.exe was started first, and, while it is running, fheroes2.cfg was edited. In this case all manual changes in fheroes2.cfg made while fheroes2.exe is running will be overwritten.

@oleg-derevenetz,
@LeHerosInconnu BTW, you don't happen to be trying to edit fheroes2.cfg while fheroes2 is already running, do you? Because fheroes2 isn't able to apply manual config changes "on the fly".
I try all possibilities. :D But in all cases, I have the same result.
The change (made before running the program) is applied correctly when I run the program, but as soon as I change the game resolution (with the door in game), the setting is reset to "on".

Cannot reproduce this so far. I found a Windows machine, downloaded and installed the latest build from here:
https://ci.appveyor.com/project/ihhub/fheroes2/builds/39652976/job/t9pehcf6y4d6p4io/artifacts
then manually changed show game intro to off in %APPDATA\fheroes2\fheroes2.cfg, and then tried to change game resolution via resolution menu called by pressing on the door on the left in main game menu. videomode is changing in fheroes2.cfg, but show game intro remains off.

Hello @tau3,
This boat has
Direction::UNKNOWN. Has it been summoned? For some reason it has its direction unset.
If I remember correctly, the hero Dimitry disembarked from this boat after it was built at Bloodreign castle located just northwest of Dimitry's position. I don't have a previous save file.

In fheroes2, the terrain music should be restored from where it was interrupted when a castle screen is exited after being opened from the "Kingdom Overview" screen.
When the "Kingdom Overview" screen is opened, the music of the terrain where the hero or the castle is located is played. When a castle screen is opened from the "Kingdom Overview" screen, the music of the castle is played. When the castle screen is exited, the game returns to the "Kingdom Overview" screen but the castle music continues to be played. The terrain music should be played from the point where it was interrupted. (Also if the "Kindom Overview" screen is exited, the castle music continues to play until a hero or castle is selected).
In fheroes2: Activate the sound of the video.

In fheroes2, when the game resolution is changed, the value "off" of "show game intro = off" is reset to "on" in the file "fheroes2.cfg".

You can try undoing that rename and see if the KDE one works. Otherwise try xfce4-notifyd or any other standalone notification daemon listed here https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Desktop_notifications

Not sure, could be possible. I installed manjaro with KDE, but I am trying to move away from that now. What daemon(s) should I try?

Is this reproducible on a clean manjaro install? It seems like you have done something weird to your dbus setup. You can also try to see if another notification daemon works.

is there any way to scroll notifications that won't fit on the screen (vertically). there's not much software that produces such long notifications, but i have one example, and it's https://github.com/soimort/translate-shell, if there's no way to do it, consider this a feature request. i did search google before creating this issue, the project's name is almost ungoogleable, and there was nothing sensible in the output

Unfortunately implementing a scrollbar is not realistic for Dunst, since it doesn't use a gui toolkit. Alternatives include making this specific notification a bit wider using rules or running a script that can take the notification text and show it in another program that does have a scroll bar.
