Backup restore management

Okay, I think I got it working with the following steps:

  1. Kill Seedvault
  2. Copy the good backup to the backup location
  3. Clear the cache of Seedvault
  4. Remove /data/data/com.stevesoltys.seedvault/files/metadata.cache
  5. Manually change the token in /data/data/com.stevesoltys.seedvault/shared_prefs/com.stevesoltys.seedvault_preferences.xml

Backup restore management

Hey, thanks for your answer. So I used Seedvault to restore the old backup and that worked well. After that the auto restore feature worked great too but after some while all backups of apps that weren't installed yet simply disappeared from the backup location. I still have a copy of the backup from before this happened but I can't get Seedvault to use it.

Backup restore management

While restore management is being worked on, does anyone know a workaround to restore only some apps from an old backup?

Wrong rows are selected for some tables

Ah, I see, that is indeed ambiguous. I modified the issue according to your suggestion. Thanks for looking into the issue!

Yes, I meant that I inserted the row without using the GUI. Sorry if that was unclear, English is not my native language.

New Rebalancing based on an linear equation solver

@RomanLangrehr Yes, having individual weights on securities would essentially be a shorthand for a category with a single security. So it is not strictly necessary but I think it might be a common use case. It does not solve the problem of ambiguous solutions but it isn't meant to do that (I didn't propose it as an alternative to this PR in case that it sounded like that).

It is meant to solve among others the example that @buchen showed, multiple securities with a common category but where only one is allocated. If this feature was implemented (or if @buchen used the workaround for it), I think that the solver from your PR would already output the solution that @buchen wanted. That's why I answered here.

Independent from that I agree that it could be useful to further restrict the securities that are used for re balancing.

Maybe there could be the option to also assign an allocation not only to the categories but also to the securities. You could then allocate 100% to the stock that you are currently holding. If no allocation is assigned to the securities from a category it should default to equally allocated.

Wrong rows are selected for some tables

Details for the issue

What did you do?

I created a database with a single table using

CREATE TABLE data (
key BLOB NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
    value BLOB NOT NULL
) WITHOUT ROWID"

I then inserted a row with key having type BLOB (not using the GUI).

What did you expect to see?

I should be able to delete or modify the row that I inserted using the GUI.

What did you see instead?

A a not existing (wrong) row is selected for deletion and other modifications. I think because DB4S uses TEXT instead of BLOB to select it.

Useful extra information

  • A database that has this issue: db.zip
  • https://github.com/sqlitebrowser/sqlitebrowser/issues/2582 could be related but I think the fix doesn't apply to this particular issue.

What is your DB4S version?

  • [x] 3.12.2
