Support multiple channel ID forms

Would be nice to have rebalance accept both 1x2x3-form channel IDs in addition to the numeric channel IDs, some front-ends (such as thunderhub) only present those IDs.

Rebalance continually fails with: "Temporary Channel Failure"

Getting this error a lot, even in cases like these:

2021-07-12 19:49:59 info [THUB]:
\u001b[90m69x1x1\u001b[39m ★ ★ ★ ★",
        "\u001b[92mFOO\u001b[39m 112233. Fee rate: 0.00% (3)",
        "\u001b[90m64x3x0\u001b[39m",
        "\u001b[92mGOO\u001b[39m 445566. Fee rate: 0.00% (3)",
        "\u001b[90m69x1x0\u001b[39m"
    ]
}
2021-07-12 19:50:04 info [THUB]:
TemporaryChannelFailure at 644x3x0 from FOO"
}

where FOO and GOO are two well connected nodes (both with each other as well as with my node), with a decent rebalance target and fees much higher than the fee rates described, and yet TemporaryChannelFailure comes up repeatedly.

What exactly does this error mean? Is this a temporary network failure due to downtime, or not enough liquidity? How can I use this information to attempt a successful rebalance?

Cannot send payment through any route

I'm testing breez payments with an LN node that is directly peered and has an open channel to Breez.

When scanning invoice and attempting to pay, the payment never goes through, not directly nor via any other route.

The server seems to be attempting to resolve 03988685d49e68b5d855c3403d3f8b5120dcbbe89973dbf4e57c2102538f2fc30d which is an unknown public key.

Requesting a route to this node from Breez also returns an UnknownNextPeer error.

Cool thanks for your help @kingonly and for all the info, I'll keep digging into the routing on my side

Thanks for the clarification regarding the mobile node, that makes much more sense to me now.

However, it still doesn't seem the routing hints are helping out since my node still can't resolve a path to the mobile node, not even if I explicitly route the payment out through Breez.

For debugging, I also added my node as a peer directly to the mobile node (via the developers menu), but that didn't help either.

Ok I had no idea Breez runs two nodes. So just to clarify if I have a route to Breez AKA 031015a7839468a3c266d662d5bb21ea4cea24226936e2864a7ca4f2c3939836e0@212.129.58.219:9735 I should be able to route through that (via private channel) to the elusive 03988685d49e68b5d855c3403d3f8b5120dcbbe89973dbf4e57c2102538f2fc30d?

Since Breez issued the invoice, I would expect it to show a well known node that is accepting the payment.

Is this public key expected? None of the LN explorers seems to recognize this pubkey.

Add Tor hybrid connectivity mode

Testing this build now and it seems to be working properly. Up until now my node was cleartext only, and now I'm testing --tor.active and --tor.directconnections.

My node still seems to publish a clearnet external IP, and yet I can resolve .onion peers.

Using lsof to verify the connections, I see lnd:

  • listening on *:9735
  • connecting to SOCKS on localhost:9050
  • connecting directly to clearnet peers on 1.2.3.4:9735
  • connecting to various tor nodes on random ports

AFAICT all is working properly.
