Right now, the server argument in renderDT() doesn't react to the inputs in Shiny. This PR enables it.

It's trivial but I personally find it's very useful when testing.

library(shiny)

ui = fluidPage(sidebarLayout(
sidebarPanel(
),
mainPanel(
DT::DTOutput('tbl')
)
))
server = function(input, output, session) {
output$tbl = DT::renderDT({ tbl = data.frame(A = rnorm(10), B = rnorm(10)) }, server = as.logical(input$server))
}
shiny::runApp(list(ui = ui, server = server), port = 6435)

The root issue is the environment variable PATH. If you know how to add a path to PATH, you are all set (add ~/Library/TinyTeX/bin/x86_64-darwin to PATH), and you don't need sudo. The problem is that not everyone knows how to do that on every platform. That's why /usr/local/bin is handy (it is already in PATH).

issue commentrstudio/rstudio

I just realized that #5608 only made it possible to compile .tex files via tinytex::latexmk(), but not .Rnw documents. And I was hoping the intermediate .tex from .Rnw could be compiled through tinytex as well (yihui/tinytex#10). I'm not familiar with rnw_weave::runWeave below, but it sounds like it does the two steps together ("weave" + "compile to pdf"):

https://github.com/rstudio/rstudio/blob/a675c8564ce74baf06dcc702300a21ac6484dd23/src/cpp/session/modules/tex/SessionCompilePdf.cpp#L614-L632

So somewhere inside rnw_weave::runWeave, we need to call tinytex::latexmk() if the preference use_tinytex is true.

I was just about to tell the user who asked the question https://stackoverflow.com/q/61029677/559676 to try the daily build, but after I tested it, I realized .Rnw was not compiled through tinytex, so it won't work for this user (references won't be correctly resolved).

/usr/local/bin is owned by root by default, so the user cannot symlink anything to it.

It seems that this issue has been addressed in R (I don't use R) but is still present with the shell scripts.

Would it be possible to change the install script so as to let the user choose between an install to /urs/local/bin and a local install without running sudo?

By filing an issue to this repo, I promise that

• [v] I have fully read the issue guide at https://yihui.org/issue/.
• [v] I have provided the necessary information about my issue.

Homebrew also uses /usr/local (including /usr/local/bin): https://docs.brew.sh/FAQ#why-does-homebrew-prefer-i-install-to-usrlocal

If your /usr/local/bin is owned by root, there is probably something wrong, which can be fixed by:

## 'mbcsToSbcs' 里转换 ' 鐧介 ? 婀栧皬鍖 <U+FFFD>' 出错： <bd> 代替了 dot

......

This is the code for the graph below:

pic_er=ggplot(matrix_er, aes(x = matrix_er$cat, y = matrix_er$er, fill = matrix_er$dn)) + geom_bar(position =position_dodge2(padding=0), stat="identity") + xlab("Catagory")+ylab("Effective Rate") + scale_fill_economist(name=NULL)+ ggtitle("The Comparison Of Effective Rates \nBased On Districts And Catagories") + geom_text(aes(label=percent(matrix_er$er)),position = position_dodge(.9),size=rel(2),hjust=1.2,vjust=0.3) +

legend.text =element_text(size = rel(0.8)),legend.position = "right")

Then the picture is shown as below:

Those Chinese words on the legend are not displayed as expected on the right side, replaced by square,square,square!

tlmgr: running in usermode, did you call tlmgr init-usertree'?

This causes automatic package installation to break.

I don't have the same problem on OS X using R 3.5.2.

Indeed, manually running tlmgr init-usertree seems to fix the problem.

Dear Yihui,

Just a short question.

I was not able to get the right synthax to install TinyTex missing Latex packages from local.zip. I do not have the choice, because of my company firewall. I tried in R using tinytex::tlmgr_install, but it is obvouisly not the right one:

tlmgr install C:\Users\ancollet\Documents\7 - Software\R\Installation_float\float.zip
tlmgr.pl install: package - not present in repository.
tlmgr.pl install: package C:\Users\ancollet\Documents\7 not present in repository.
tlmgr.pl install: package Software\R\Installation_float\float.zip not present in repository.
tlmgr.pl: action install returned an error; continuing.
No connection to the internet.
but found a local copy so using that.

You may want to try specifying an explicit or different CTAN mirror;
see the information and examples for the -repository option at
https://tug.org/texlive/doc/install-tl.html
(or in the output of install-tl --help).

tlmgr.pl: package repository http://ctan.math.washington.edu/tex-archive/systems/texlive/tlnet (not verified: unknown)
tlmgr.pl: An error has occurred. See above messages. Exiting.

What should be the correct one ? I tried to understand from the tlmgr guide, but I am a bit lost with the syntax and these concepts of repository etc.

I also tried to install the package directly to TinyTex in my appdata folder, unfortunately, I am not able to idendity the right "TEXMFHOME" directory to place my .sty and .pdf. In a windows CMD, it gives me:

If problems persist, feel free to report to texlive@tug.org.

Perhaps the problem is the following: I kept my TinyTex installation, but I changed my linux distribution. Because Tinytex was on a separated partition, I was able to keep it. If I have to reinstall everything, there is no problem. But I must be sure I can reinstall everything. This week tlmgr updated some packages but did not complete all updates, and my latex system was broken.

After you change your OS, you probably need to reinstall TinyTeX in the new system. If you want to reinstall all LaTeX packages that were previously installed in the old system, you may get a list of package names in the old system---see the command in FAQ 11: https://yihui.org/tinytex/faq/
