pull request commentapache/maven-surefire

Refer to correct property in skipping-tests doc

The author of the doc separated the text been dedicated to the Surefire and Failsafe plugin using IF-ELSE decision making in one doc file. That's the (1). We do not copy the doc from Surefire module to the Failsafe module and we only switch few lines of text which is maybe 10%.

The docs are separated using IF-ELSE but the author of the current documentation clearly wanted to document both skipITs (firstly) and skipTests. This is the section in its entirety:

To skip running the tests for a particular project, set the <<skipITs>> property to <<true>>.

 +---+
 […long example with <skipITs>true</skipITs>…]
 +---+

You can also skip the tests via the command line by executing the following command:

 +---+
-mvn install -DskipTests
+mvn install -DskipTests
 +---+

Since <<<skipTests>>> is also supported by the ${thatPlugin} Plugin, this will have the effect
of not running any tests. If, instead, you want to skip only the integration tests
being run by the ${thisPlugin} Plugin, you would use the <<<skipITs>>> property instead:

 +---+
 mvn install -DskipITs
 +---+

Please either merge or close this PR instead of leaving it hanging.

Feature request: Configure AirPlay name independently from device name

I'd like to configure the AirPlay name independently from the device name so that I can a have a "high-level" name like "Living Room" for the former and technical like "Beocreate" for the latter. AirPort Express has this feature FWIW.

By the way: thanks for all your work on this! I love it.

Looking at https://github.com/bang-olufsen/create/blob/d9c4833/beocreate_essentials/dsp.js#L330 I can see that — yes — there's is in fact a leak, since the event listeners are never unregistered.

Refer to correct property in skipping-tests doc

I think we're mixing up three different issues here:

  1. what the author of the current documentation had in mind when they wrote it.
  2. the general state of the current documentation (that IMHO should describe current behavior even if it's bad).
  3. the current behavior of the plugin (w.r.t. skipTests).

This mini-PR only addresses point 1. Working on 2 doesn't seem valuable until 3 has been resolved.

Do a release ?

@famod: Sorry, I forgot to the state the context. @vinsgithub mentioned in #89 that a hotfix could be advisable if 1.2.0 is unreleasable (for some reason). Releasing 1.2.0 is definitively better if possible. If it isn't, I provided backported commits to save some time for the releaser.

PR opened apache/maven-surefire

Refer to correct property in skipping-tests doc

I found a little error when reading https://maven.apache.org/surefire/maven-failsafe-plugin/examples/skipping-tests.html :

You can also skip the tests via the command line by executing the following command:

mvn install -DskipITs

Since skipTests is also supported by the Surefire Plugin, this will have the effect of not running any tests. If, instead, you want to skip only the integration tests being run by the Failsafe Plugin, you would use the skipITs property instead:

mvn install -DskipITs

The former command should refer to skipTests instead.

Do a release ?

I took things into my own hands hoping to accelerate things and prepared a 1.1.x branch at https://github.com/qerub/flatten-maven-plugin/commits/1.1.x with 1) a bump from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1-SNAPSHOT 2) a backport of #96/#97 3) the partial fix for #89 4) a maven-release-plugin:prepare run. @lasselindqvist: Feel free to just copy the branch. Or don't; I won't take offence. 😊

I'm also waiting for a release that resolves #89. So is @vinsgithub and @dreis2211. Is there anything we can do to help? I could provide a backport to 1.1 if somebody created a 1.1.x branch in Git.
