File path omitted in 'unknown type'

When getting the unknown_type warning, the file path (and line) is omitted. This makes debugging very hard.

For example:

[{:warn_unknown, {[], 0}, {:unknown_type, {DoesNotExist, :t, 0}}}]

This also affects upstream Elixir projects, such as dialyxir.

DEATH STRANDING (1190460)

Hello @jtrees, please copy your system information from Steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report. The riddle to ponder with your system is why VKD3D-Proton is trying to use llvmpipe instead of a video card.

Sorry, the issue turned out to...

  • ... not be limited to Death Stranding.
  • ... be NixOS-specific.

Just in case anyone else stumbles here for the same reason:

On NixOS, nvidia users now need two workarounds for Steam and Proton to work properly:

# configuration.nix

environment.systemPackages = with pkgs; [
  (steam.override {
      # Workaround for embedded browser not working.
      #
      # https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/137279
      extraPkgs = pkgs: with pkgs; [ pango harfbuzz libthai ];

      '';
    })
]

All Proton games stopped working after crash

I am also experiencing this issue. Since the big client update, none of my Steam Proton games work any more.

Will update this post with the data requested above, once I have gathered it.

Linting doesn't work if no column is provided by linting tool

Steps <!-- how to reproduce the issue? -->

  1. Set the linting tool to something that uses the flycheck format (e.g. set-option window lintcmd "mix credo list --config-file=.credo.exs --format=flycheck" for an elixir project with credo)
  2. Provoke a linting error that produces a linting error with no specified column (e.g. foo.ex:42: error: use rust instead)
  3. Lint the buffer

Outcome <!-- what is the result of the above steps? -->

The Linting output is ignored completely.

Expected <!-- what should have been the result of the above steps? -->

The error should be handled, despite the absence of a column.

Forward jump no longer working (regression)

Steps <!-- how to reproduce the issue? -->

  • Open a scratch buffer
  • Jump to end of buffer (ge)
  • Jump back (<c-o>)
  • Attempt to jump forward again (<c-i>)

Outcome <!-- what is the result of the above steps? -->

Nothing happens.

Expected <!-- what should have been the result of the above steps? -->

The selection should jump back to the end of the buffer.

This appears to be a regression that was introduced somewhere between v2020.09.01 and v2021.08.28.

Strange error message in nixos

Thanks! I was unable to use dialyzer for a while due to an old, incompatible plt. Didn't think to check my home folder for it.

In my case ($MIX_HOME was undefined), the workaround looked like this:

rm ~/.local/share/mix/*.plt

Yeah, it's not super elegant but at least there's not too much going on.

There is a build.sh in the repo but it does a bunch of things I don't think we should be doing, such as copying binaries to the home directory and even launching the emulator itself. The latter does end up failing because the environment doesn't match expectations ($DISPLAY isn't set or something like that) but all in all it felt less hacky performing a few manual steps than trying to work with the script.
