Quick keys by default

Is there a way to have quick keys shown by default? I've seen that I can activate selectrum-show-indices in order to see numbers, but it'd be great to be able to have quick keys instead...

Thanks for the great work!!

How can I disable the top header and bottom status bar?

In fact no: I was trying to apply the settings on a running ranger, instead of modifying the config file. Sorry about that. I've just tried again, this time including the settings in the config file and of course it does work.

However, I don't want to eliminate the bars in all my instances, but rather be able to deactivate them on demand.

Add "browser" playback mode

I'm also interested in this, although my programming skills are not so strong.

It could also be solved with a chain of commands (clear -q, win-add-q {}, player-next), but there's no way to do this, afaik.

Is it possible to chain cmus commands?

This would be very useful.

I just arrived to cmus, but I have the impression that this functionality could be (somehow awkwardly) replicated with the run command. It'd be much nicer to be able to chain commands, of course.

Feature: play a file/folder directly

Hi,

This small piece of software is just great. I've spent some time looking around and, wow, this is exactly it. Thank you so much for sharing.

Now, I said "exactly" but I feel there is a small improvement that could be added. When I browse my files/folders, I'd like to select one and play it right away. That is: no adding to a playlist, no adding to a queue: just play it.

As far as I can tell, the cli commands for such a thing would apparently be:

cmus-remote -c -q && cmus-remote -q [file/folder] && cmus-remote -n

This works for me. Do you think a fourth command could be added to provide this functionality? There must be a cleaner way (never wrote in python before), but I guess something like this could work:

class cmus_justplay(Command):
    def execute(self):
        """ Play selected files or folders """
        file_objs = get_files(self.fm)

        cmus1 = ["cmus-remote -c -q"]
        self.fm.execute_command(cmus1)
        cmus2 = ["cmus-remote -q"]
        cmus2.extend([f.path for f in file_objs])
        self.fm.execute_command(cmus2)
        cmus3 = ["cmus-remote -n"]
        self.fm.execute_command(cmus3)
        self.fm.notify("Cmus queue was cleared and files were sent to it.")
        self.fm.thisdir.mark_all(False)

I provisionally named it cmus_justplay because imho there would be a collision in names, since probably this new command deserves the name cmus_play, while the old cmus_play could be called cmus_playlist, or something like that.

What do you think?

Would this be the same thing that happens with Twitter's next/prev image? I get:

If that's the case, maybe it'd be nice to have the 'aria-label' and/or button considered...

Improvements for :navigate prev/next heuristics

That's great! Thank you so much for this so well-thought software!!

However, I'm not being able to make it work in this casethis case . Apparently it has nothing to do with language, after all.

The code involved in navigation is this:

<button type="button" class="image-gallery-icon image-gallery-left-nav icon-arrow-left" aria-label="Previous Slide"></button>

I've tried this:

c.hints.prev_regexes.append(r'\bleft\b')
c.hints.prev_regexes.append(r'\bPrevious Slide\b')
c.hints.next_regexes.append(r'\bright\b')
c.hints.next_regexes.append(r'\bNext Slide\b')

To no avail so far. :( Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe this is unrelated, but shouldn't navigate next take into account the language of the site? I mean, a site with "siguiente" or "anterior" ("next" and "previous" in Spanish) doesn't seem to work. I tried google.es and google.com, and the later works but the former doesn't.

Another option would be to follow Vimium's approach and let the user define a set of symbols for calling next and previous with navigate.

Partial pass-through for certain sites

Coming from Vimium-C, I'm missing a way to pass through only a certain subset of keys. In that plugin for Chromium/Firefox, you can define a set of keys for a certain website which get passed through, respecting the rest of bindings.

image

This is useful, for example, to use some of the Twitter shortcuts (notably j, i, etc) while in normal mode. I know I can enter in pass-through or insert mode to do that, but it is convenient to retain some of the usual qutebrowser bindings, thus saving some daily keystrokes.

Editor does not correctly insert text some pages with intelligent editors

I guess there's no use in expanding the list, but I cannot write messages to my univerisity's LMS (which is based on http://www.dotlrn.org/ and uses an enriched text editor) with my beloved external editor, which of course kinda sucks.

Is there anything we can do to help?

For some reason, these work in github and other pages, but not in gmail when writing or replying to an email: text does not get transferred from the terminal to the webpage. It does work when inputting text into the gmail search box, though. Does anyone know what might be happening?

Hints letter selection seems random

Would it be possible to offer variants of this algorithm? I.e., spend all the one letter tags before going into combinations, spend letters in the home row before further others, etc.

In my dreams, a predictive algorithm could even be used to assign more easily reachable letters to links that are more likely to be clicked based on the usual browsing pattern...

Notmuch: narrow tags, order sets of tags

Hi! I just landed in selectrum/prescient some days ago and I love it. In fact, I'd love to get frecency in almost every aspect of my computer interaction! XD

However, when using notmuch email, I find a peculiar situation that I don't know how to deal with. The thing is that notmuch is based on the idea of tagging messages (with notmuch-tag) in order to "store" them. For example, a newly arrived message from a mailing list would be tagged "inbox" when it arrives, and then I would probably want to tag it like so: "+list -inbox", so it would be removed from inbox and stored with tag "list".

I'm happy with how I'm getting my tags narrowed when I initiate the task of tagging (one after the other, of course), but I'm not so happy with how they're sorted at the beginning: I'd like to have full sets of tags in the sorting memory, so repeating a tagging would be real quick. Instead, in the list I find only individual tags, which forces me to repeat narrowing and selection if I need to apply several tags, even though they might be the same set I applied last time.

Sorry since I'm quite new to emacs and all. Do I make sense at all? Is there a way to get sets of tags (instead of tags) in the frecency ordering?

Thanks for prescient!!

It does help! M-r is just what I needed! Thank you so much for taking the time to look into the code for me!

I'll have a look into the differences between completing-read-multiple, consult-completing-read-multiple and selectrum-completing-read-multiple. In my case, even though I'm also using consult, I believe the one my system is using is the later (since completing-read-multiple help page says this: This function has :override advice: ‘selectrum-completing-read-multiple’). In any case, it works! :)

Thanks again!

Read and respect timezone

I have experienced similar (same?) issue with an outlook calendar imported into google calendar (it's a long story). All of my appointments are shown 5 hours late which is consistent with CDT -5 time zone.

I'm still having this. It affects only the Outlook calendar, not the rest. Apparently, for that calendar TZ is +0.

Open annotation text box automatically

Hi! Pdf-tools is wonderful, thanks to all that contributed.

How can I open the text box for a markup annotation directly? Right now, to write a markup annotation I have to 1) use the mouse to select text, then 2) mark the annotation with its corresponding shortcut and then 3) click again on the marked text to open the text box. Is there a way to remove the last step by automatically opening the text box and placing the cursor there?
