Content toggle feature

What happens when there's only one element to switch on or off? Spring Batch, for example, has content (a heading and its section) that is present only when XML is chosen. There is no corresponding Java content.

Content toggle feature

One problem I have is identifying the block groups. What happens if the same value is in more than one group (XML in both XML&Java and XML&JSON, for example)? Also, I want authors to be able to express their intention ("These things go together, so let me define that somewhere.").

Add a recipe for installing SCDF for batch-only mode

I would like to add it as fourth option called "Batch-only Mode" under "Local Machine". My concern with putting it as right-menu option within the Local topic is that people will see all those other steps first and inadvertently do them, only to then need to go back and do something else to get into batch-only mode.

What do you think?

Content toggle feature

to address https://github.com/spring-io/spring-asciidoctor-extensions/issues/37

I created a content-toggle from scratch. The key feature is that the author can define the toggle values that become the buttons.

Feature request: Further support for document header content

Because it is HTML rather than Asciidoc to be rendered, I think we are better off with the workaround we developed by using conditional statements. Thanks, though.

As for my answer on an issue from 1.5 years ago, all I can say is that it is a form of asynchronous communication. ;)

Editing pass and version upgrade

I edited all the readme files (and added callouts, as comments, to several code files). I also upgraded the Spring Boot version to 2.2.4 (the latest) and dealt with the resulting breaking changes in org.springframework.hateoas.

Reviewers
Issue 34 - Fix some README issues and add the final application listing.

Issue 34 notes some problems in the text for this guide. Additionally, the guide lacks a listing of the final version of the application class. I believe my changes address these issues.

My changes do not address a different issue, specifically that the guide refers to some code that does not exist. Namely, a method in the repository named findByTeammatesName and code in main that exercises it (Finally, check out that other query where you look backwards, answering the question of "Who works with whom?"). I will submit a separate patch request with such code.

Better matching for group names Per Andy Wilkinson's suggestions, I adjusted everything to lower case and handled groups that have more than two alternatives (one of my initial goals, too). I have yet to figure out how to handle the same value being in two different groups. I'm still thinking about that.

Remember the block switch setting

 function addBlockSwitches() { 		switchItem.content.addClass('hidden'); 		findPrimary(secondary).append(switchItem.content); 		secondary.remove();+		var groupName = primary.find('div.switch--item').text();

Why are we using "primary" and "secondary"? What happens when we want three choices? I think this would be better for authors and easier for coding this JavaScript if it were a single word for all the values - "switchChoice" or something like that. Then the trick will be grouping them, but we can look for intervening content. Can we do something like that?

Remove jsonpath dependency which it's unnecessary since the newer versions use Jackon by default

By merging this commit the Adding a JSON Library part will be removed. The idea is to make the article as simple as possible for beginners.

Use local storage rather than a cookie

I learnt that local storage is the preferred way to save a user's preferences. A cookie is sent to the server on every request, which makes for needless traffic. I "borrowed" the idea from the Spring Framework docs.

Migrate to spring-security-oauth2-client

The Spring Boot 2.0 migration guide hints that org.springframework.security.oauth.boot:spring-security-oauth2-autoconfigure will be superseeded by org.springframework.security:spring-security-oauth2-client. Is there any documentation covering this topic? Should this repo be updated to reflect this change?

Functionality from the Spring Security OAuth project is being migrated to core Spring Security. Dependency management is no longer provided for that dependency and Spring Boot 2 provides OAuth 2.0 client support via Spring Security 5. [...] We’re also continuing to support Spring Boot 1.5 so older applications can continue to use [Spring Security OAuth] until an upgrade path is provided.

commit sha 894d7db516c3db68ad951d8f9fce4a32963c0e16

Add feedback (#21) * Adding a feedback widget for the reference docs I created the first draft of a feedback widget for the reference docs. * Added a project name field We'll need to be able to filter by project name, so I added a field for the project name. * Added a formatted date For the sake of display in the viewer application, I added a formatted date field. * Adding the necessary JavaScript libraries. Damien Vitrac caught that they were missing. Thanks, Damien. * Adding more items that Damien discovered I had forgotten. Thanks, Damien. * Adding more changes that Damien discovered were missing. In toc.js this time. Thanks, Damien. * Adding the images this time. * Review and optimisations * Added the ability to turn off the feedback widget The feedback widget does not appear unless an element with an ID of 'pageId' exists in the asciidoc file. The feedback widget needs an element with that ID, so that makes a sensible switch. * Cleaning up some unneeded bits The work Damien did made some things (jquery stuff) unnecessary. I also fixed a grammatical error. * CSS cleanup Damien made feedback.css be unnecessary, but that meant moving a CSS rule to a SASS file. I took care of that. * A few more changes as the result of testing I did some more testing (trying to be thorough) and caught a few more things. I made changes accordingly. Co-authored-by: Damien Vitrac <oodamien@users.noreply.github.com>

The code-switching tool I made for Batch remembers the setting (by using a cookie). I'll look into doing that for this tool.

I also want it to handle more than two choices (Spring Integration has three, and other projects may have more in the future). Strictly speaking, I suppose that's a separate feature.

Replace main with demo and explain control flow

Obvious Fix. Replace main() with demo() as the name of the method that contains the tests, to be consistent with the source code. Add one sentence that explains that the code in demo() runs when the application launches.

Upgrade to Spring Boot 2.2 I upgraded the build files to use Spring 2.2. Doing so necessitated upgrading the Gradle wrappers. Note that there are no tests in the /complete branch. I added the test from the Initializr in the /initial branch.
